Spring Programme 2020

Indoor meetings begin at 7.30 pm in the Hall, Holy Trinity RC Church, Lichfield Road, Sutton Coldfield, unless otherwise stated. Outdoor meetings normally end by 4.30-5 pm, but finishing times and distances of outdoor meetings are approximate.

Please check with the Secretary or the Leader before attending an outdoor meeting, since these may have to be cancelled or changed. Please also feel free to contact the Secretary if you have any queries or have difficulty in getting to a meeting.

Sat, 14 Mar 2020 Walk in the New Hall Valley. Meet at 2 pm in the car park of the Ramada Hotel, off Penns Lane (OS map ref: ); B76 1LH). Leader: Victor Parslow.
Thu, 19 Mar 2020 6 pm for 6:30 pm. Annual Dinner at the Country Kitchen, (in Moor Hall Drive, off Little Sutton Lane or Weeford Road, Sutton Coldfield). Cost per head £16. Members are welcome to bring a guest. Bookings to Kate Ashcroft at the February meeting or as soon as possible afterwards, please.

Sun, 19 Apr 2020 (Note date.) Visit to Shire Oak LNR. Meet at 2 pm in the car park at the end of Andrews Road (OS map ref: ); WS9 9RL). From Sutton Coldfield, take the A452 towards Brownhills; left onto the A461 by the Royal Oak; then left into Shire Ridge and Andrews Road. Leader: Peter Coxhead.

Sat, 16 May 2020 Visit to Park Lime Pits and Rushall Canal. Meet at 2 pm in the car park at the end of Park Road, off Daw End Lane, Rushall (OS map ref: ; WS4 1LG). Leader: Mich Moore.
Tue, 9 Jun 2020 Visit to the Castle Grounds, Tamworth. Meet at 7 pm in the Jolly Sailor car park (OS map ref: ; B78 3JJ). Access is from Bonehill Road, Tamworth; coming from Sutton Coldfield on the A453, take the second exit onto the local road at the large island forming the junction with the A451. A small parking charge applies. Leader: Mich Moore.
Sat, 4 Jul 2020 Visit to Bodenham Arboretum. Adult admission (no concessions) £6.50. The entrance to the arboretum is on Sladd Lane, off the B4189 east of Wolverley. See their website at (OS map ref: ; DY11 5TB). Meet at 11 am in the car park. There is a restaurant on site. Leader: Peter Coxhead.


Visitors are welcome at any meeting, indoors or out. A nominal charge of £2.50 is made for an indoor meeting.
